I'm always learning new ways to learn....
Now that the kids have been back in school for nearly a month, I have come to admit that at times I wish I had the opportunity to return to the classroom to soak up some more knowledge just for myself. I know that won't happen for me but I am amazed at the things I learn from sitting in on some of my classes. Just today I learned that there are division rules (check it out on google for yourself under "division rules"). The number 91125 is divisible by 9 because if you add up each of the numbers 9+1+1+2+5= 18 which is divisible by 9. Check out some of the other neat rules and use it on your kids or spouses, they won't believe how smart you are. I had no idea there were rules like this, in my day, we just had to learn the hard way.

Peterson Family Reunion 2010
On Labor Day weekend we, that is John and I, decided to pull together a Sally Peterson Reunion. On Friday evening we contacted as many as we could, obviously the ones that lived the closest, to see if they could all meet at our home. Everyone seemed excited and decided it was a great idea. We had fun talking about old times, eating, going to the Tabernacle Choir broadcast and Hill Air Force Museum. Well as they say, "Families are like Fudge--mostly sweet with a few nuts. So judge for yourself....

Iowa Vacation
Just a few of our pictures we took on our family vacation to Iowa. We had a great time with Regan, Shan and the boys. It was non-stop. We visited Adam ondi ahman, Far West, watched a major league baseball game in Kansas City. We played in the water at Saylor's lake in Iowa, went to the corn fest and watched Zac run in a race. We visited the sites in Nauvoo and Carthage. Seventeen hours on the road, but it was all worth it!

First Day of School
Another year of school started yesterday for Jazzy and Jack. Two weeks of summer vacation is enough. They were already losing large masses of gray matter. Jackson is in 4th grade and has the same teacher that Jazzy had last year. Jazzy has a MAN teacher... we'll see how that goes.
Good Luck this year! Learn lots of things! We Love Ya!!

Sweet's Candy Factory Tour
We decided to take the free tour of Sweet's Candy Factory today. Jack thought we were on a school field trip. Guess what they were making today? You guessed it...Halloween candy. You know summer is going by really fast when you see all the stores putting their Fall things out and then see orange pumpkin taffys being made. We thought we were in " Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as we noticed the pipes going across the ceiling that contained dark chocolate and milk chocolate syrup. At the end of the tour they let us sample as many candies as we wanted. Chocolate cinnamon bears and chocolate orange sticks are my favorites. Jack liked the sour gummy worms. YUM, YUM, YUM!

Dear John
Last night Mackenzie was feeling sad :( not being at prom and all, so we decided to drown her sorrows at Tori's house. By now you have to realize that because of the car accident and the fact that we have a rental car and that to drive it you have to be 21, so I had to drive her, broken leg and all. My intention was to drop her off and let her sister bring her home, but Tori talked us into watching "Dear John". We loved it and talked about it all the way home. If you liked the "Notebook" you will love this one too, it's written by the same person. We'd give it 4 stars!
